Which Videos Should You Produce First?

Watch the video here.

You’ve bought into the concept of using video to grow your business, but what are the first videos to tackle? Do you start posting six times a day on TikTok? Do you post a 20-minute-long memoir of your life up until this point? Please don’t do either of those options…. Below are my top 5 videos that should kick off your video journey.

  1. Intro Video

Who are you and what makes you and your company different? Let’s get to know the people behind the brand because people like to work with people that they know, like, and trust. This isn’t the 20-minute memoir that I mentioned above, but it’s the short (and polished) elevator pitch that you use to grab attention and get people wanting to know more. You can post this on YouTube, your website’s home page, and on social channels.

  2. Customer Testimonial

We are all bad at telling our own stories, but you know who is great at telling our story? The people that we have helped! Find your ride-or-die fan, a client who will sing your praises to their friends and family. Hearing from a real customer will help potential customers feel more confident in working with you. Definitely post this on social media and sales pages you have on your website, or share it during a presentation or pitch.

  3. Product or Service Demo

This one is pretty self-explanatory but very powerful. Show your customer how your product works, or walk them through what their experience will be like with your service. This will remove uncertainty and answer the questions of your potential new customer. Post this on a product page of your website, send it in an email to follow up on a lead, or share it on YouTube to make your product or service more searchable.

  4. FAQ or Educational Video

Do you get the same question over and over again from customers? Let’s save you time by creating an explainer video that you can send in response, or even better, proactively, to prevent any future confusion. You can create a library of these FAQ videos on your website or YouTube channel, send them in a follow-up email to your customers, or chop them up into social content.

  5. Social Media Videos

Just because this is last on the list doesn’t mean that it is not important. But these are quick videos that, when you’re getting started or have a small budget, can be created with just you and your phone. Or if you’re at the point where you are too busy to take this on, we can work together to create a month’s worth of content in just a few hours. A presence on social media isn’t optional anymore; customers are looking here to get to know more about your company. Post consistently, repurpose longer videos, and make sure to include a call to action!

When you’re ready, let’s get started on these five videos to strategically start growing your business through video.
